The Laundromat Business: Passive Income? Not Exactly

According to TikTok, buying a laundromat is a great way to generate passive income.

But is it really?

This week, I'm joined by my longtime friend and former radio colleague Cat Chalpin, who decided to open Pop In Laundry in Poughkeepsie, NY.

We talk about what it actually takes to open and operate a laundromat, from spending a small fortune on equipment and finding good employees to marketing the business, attracting customers, and dealing with the unexpected.

Cat admits it's the hardest thing she's ever done, the business hasn't broken even yet, and it's definitely NOT passive income.

Would she do it again? Absolutely.

We also settle the age-old question: Is it laundromat or laundrymat?
