- E-mail Blast – Effective Marketing Tool or Invasive Communication Method
- The Games Are On: The 2012 Socialympics
- To the Future and Beyond
Over the past few months I’ve heard several people refer to e-mail blasts as the modern day equivalent of cold calling – do you agree? Let’s face it, every day our inboxes are flooded with e-mails about clothing sales, new products, the latest advances in technology, great deals on local services and much more. Every day we sift through dozens of e-mails to rid our inboxes of unwanted, unsolicited mail. Does this mean e-mail blast campaigns are invasive and ineffective?
The 2012 Socialympics are upon us! The term “Socialympics” is derived from the idea that this year’s Olympic games will be more social than ever, and I personally can’t wait to see how it all plays out. Excitement builds on Facebook, Twitter and many more social media sites as tech-savvy Olympians begin building their brands and expressing their thoughts and frustrations leading up to the start of the games on July 27th. We all know that the intensity builds quickly around the athletes as they begin the journey to take home the gold. Will we see a social media Olympic mishap play out in real time this year? Combining high stakes and high emotions with the ability to blast commentary, positive or negative, to millions of people promises an interesting 17 days worth of hash tags and Likes.
